Installation Guide

Follow the Installation Guide below to install the Geyser Addon. Note that here is 3 different tutorials for Paper/Paper/Purpur, Velocity and BungeeCord.

Installation Guide - Spigot/Paper/Purpur

NOTE: If you have a Velocity or BungeeCord network, do not follow this guide. Instead, refer to our specific guides for Velocity or BungeeCord.

This guide is for those who are not using Velocity, BungeeCord, or similar network softwares. If you are unsure what these are, this is the correct tutorial for you.

1. Install your setup

Before beginning to install the Geyser Addon, you should completely install the setup that you are going to use the Geyser Addon for. Make sure that the setup is installed correctly by following our installation guides.

2. Download the Geyser Addon

Now download the Geyser Addon files from BuiltByBit. When you unzip the files, you should see 3 different folders along with the Installation Guide like the picture below:

For this guide, you only need the GeyserAddonPaper folder. Ignore the 2 other folders. In here, you should see a plugins folder.

3. Uploading the plugin files

Before completing this step you should stop your server.

Now drag and drop the content of the Geyser Addon's plugins folder into your server's plugins folder.

When you have uploaded the files, start your server and stop it again to prepare for the next step.

4. Setup the Geyser plugin

Now you have to setup the Geyser plugin on your server by inserting the correct IP and Port for your server. The method for setting up Geyser depends on what host you are using.

5. Changing setup settings

For Geyser to work properly, you have to change a few settings in the setup.

First locate this file: plugins > ForcePack > config.yml In here, set the geyser setting to true like shown below: (You can find it by searching with Crtl + F)

geyser: false > geyser: true

Then locate this file: plugins > LuckPerms > config.yml In here, set the allow-invalid-usernames setting to true like shown below: (You can find it by searching with Crtl + F), (It might already be set to true)

allow-invalid-usernames: false > allow-invalid-usernames: true

6. Start your server

Everything should be ready to go now, and you can start your server and join with Minecraft Bedrock. The IP you join your server with from Minecraft Bedrock depends on how you have setup Geyser on your server.

7. Troubleshooting

If are unable to join your server from Minecraft Bedrock after following this guide and installing the Geyser Addon, here are a few tips to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Make sure you followed all steps in the guide correctly. Or try to follow all the steps again. Installing the Geyser Addon twice wont break anything.

If you are still having issues with Geyser/Bedrock, please contact our support through Discord.

Installation Guide - Velocity

This guide explains how to install our Geyser Addon on a Velocity network. Once installed, the Geyser Addon will work for all NitroSetups setups on your network.

NOTE: Before installing the Geyser Addon on a Velocity server. You have to make sure you have followed all steps in our How To Create A Server Network - Velocity guide below:

1. Prepare for installation

Before beginning to install the Geyser Addon, you should make sure that your Velocity network is fully functioning. So that the setup resourcepack fully works for all players joining your Velocity server.

2. Download the Geyser Addon

Now download the Geyser Addon files from BuiltByBit. When you unzip the files, you should see 3 different folders along with the Installation Guide like the picture below:

For this guide, you only need the GeyserAddonVelocity folder. Ignore the 2 other folders. In here, you should see a plugins folder.

3. Uploading the Velocity plugin files

Before completing this step you should stop your server.

Now open the plugins folder on your Velocity server. Drag and drop the content of the Geyser Addon's plugins folder into your Velocity server's plugins folder. When this is done, the plugins folder on your Velocity server should have all of these folders and jars:

If it doesn't include all of these folders and jars, you have done something wrong. If you have all of these folders this step is complete and you can start the Velocity server.

4. Setup the Geyser plugin

Now you have to setup the Geyser plugin correctly on your Velocity server by inserting the correct IP and Port for your server in the Geyser config. The method for setting up Geyser depends on what host you are using.

When you have completed this step, you should be able to connect to your Velocity server from Minecraft Bedrock.

5. Changing settings on gamemode servers

Your Velocity server is now fully setup and should be functioning. The last step is to change some settings on all of your gamemode servers (Survival, Skyblock, Factions etc).

Locate this file on your gamemode servers: plugins > LuckPerms > config.yml In here, set the allow-invalid-usernames setting to true like shown below: (You can find it by searching with Crtl + F)

allow-invalid-usernames: false > allow-invalid-usernames: true

6. Start your server

Everything should be ready to go now, and you can restart your servers and join your Velocity server with Minecraft Bedrock. The IP you join your server with from Minecraft Bedrock depends on how you have setup Geyser on your server.

We recommend to use Velocity instead of BungeeCord

Installation Guide - BungeeCord

This guide explains how to install our Geyser Addon on a BungeeCord network. Once installed, the Geyser Addon will work for all NitroSetups setups on your network.

NOTE: Before installing the Geyser Addon on a BungeeCord server. You have to make sure you have followed all steps in our How To Create A Server Network - BungeeCord guide below:

1. Prepare for installation

Before beginning to install the Geyser Addon, you should make sure that your BungeeCord network is fully functioning. So that the setup resourcepack fully works for all players joining your BungeeCord server.

2. Remove ForcePack plugin

All of our setups uses the ForcePack plugin to handle the setup resourcepack. However when using BungeeCord and Geyser at the same time, it isn't possible to use the ForcePack plugin. This is one of the reason why we recommend to use Velocity instead of BungeeCord.

Instead of ForcePack, you have to use the server.properties file to handle the setup resourcepack. We will explain how to make this change. This change should be made to all of the gamemode servers (Survival, Skyblock, Factions etc) that you are using.

  1. First open the ForcePack config.yml file on your gamemode server(s).

  2. In here, navigate to the Server section and copy the resourcepack URL. It should look like the URL marked with a red box in the picture below:

  1. Now open your server.properties file on the same server and paste the resourcepack URL in the resource-pack option like shown in the picture below:

  1. When you have pasted the resourcepack URL into your server.properties file, you can delete the ForcePack plugin from your server. It wont be needed anymore.

You can now start your server. When connecting to the server, the resourcepack should now be working as it was before. By using the server.properties file instead of ForcePack.

3. Download the Geyser Addon

Now download the Geyser Addon files from BuiltByBit. When you unzip the files, you should see 3 different folders along with the Installation Guide like the picture below:

For this guide, you only need the GeyserAddonBungeeCord folder. Ignore the 2 other folders. In here, you should see a plugins folder.

4. Uploading the BungeeCord plugin files

Before completing this step you should stop your server.

Now open the plugins folder on your BungeeCord server. Drag and drop the content of the Geyser Addon's plugins folder into your BungeeCord server's plugins folder. When this is done, the plugins folder on your BungeeCord server should have all of these folders and jars:

If it doesn't include all of these folders and jars, you have done something wrong. If you have all of these folders this step is complete and you can start the BungeeCord server.

5. Setup the Geyser plugin

Now you have to setup the Geyser plugin correctly on your BungeeCord server by inserting the correct IP and Port for your server in the Geyser config. The method for setting up Geyser depends on what host you are using.

When you have completed this step, you should be able to connect to your BungeeCord server from Minecraft Bedrock.

6. Changing settings on gamemode servers

Your BungeeCord server is now fully setup and should be functioning.

7. Start your server

Everything should be ready to go now, and you can restart your servers and join your BungeeCord server with Minecraft Bedrock. The IP you join your server with from Minecraft Bedrock depends on how you have setup Geyser on your server.

Editing Geyser Texturepack

Limitations

The Geyser/Bedrock compatibility has a few crucial limitations. However these won't have a big affect on the gameplay for your players. The limitations are listed below:

  1. Custom heads in inventory will not work on Bedrock. Bedrock players will not be able to see custom heads, and will see a Steve head instead of custom heads.

  2. Clickable links in the chat will not work for Bedrock players.

  3. Only Left-Click actions in menus will work. This means that actions in menus where players have to Right-Click, Shift-Right-Click or Shift-Left-Click will not work for Bedrock players. This only affect a few menus in the setup. This will affect: Kits Previews, Cancelling/Tracking quests, Island Menus.

  4. Furniture from the FurnitureLib plugin does not work properly with Geyser
